Address Book Entry to Appointment in Calendar to Custom Email - Script?

I would like to send an appointment confirmation automatically containing of course the time and date but also some specific instructions. How do I customize for this? I'd like there to be an attachment as well. Is learning to do the scripting intuitive or require some programming experience?
