Album art "blacked out" in coverflow

I am seeing some strange behavior from Coverflow on my new iPhone. Occasionally an albums artwork will show up as all black. Additionally, sometimes I will be able to see the cover in the cover "lineup" if i scroll a few albums over, but once i get to the cover in question, it disappears. Conversely I have seen this happen where the "lineup" cover isn't visible, but once I get to the album the artwork appears.

i always add my album art one of these two ways.
1) Include it in the ID3 tag by using Tag & Rename software.
2) Open the Info while browsing my iPhone in iTunes and attach it.

I know people have had problems with artwork by having iTunes find it or by adding it via the preview window. I am not doing that in this case. Here is my phone info.

iPhone: 3G 16gb
iPhone Software: 2.1
Sync: Manual
OS: Windows

I got the same Problem.
All Covers which are added since the Update 2.1 are able to see for 3 or so plays.
After that they are blacked out.
No Matter if I download via iTunes or edit them myself.
However in iTunes they are diplayed correctly, please help.

Im having the same problem since the 2.1 update. Im also experiencing some problems with my music playback. Some songs cut in and out when playing on my Iphone, but when i play them through itunes they play fully.

I am having the same issue with black out album art since 2.1 firmware. I am on Mac OS X 10.5.5 with the latest iTunes.

Sometimes i need to remove and add the album art again but this only works for a while where eventually the black out album art comes back again.

I'm having the exact same issue with my 16gb iPhone unfortunatley I got the iPhone only a few days ago and updated to 2.1 before I put music/album art on there so I can't tell if it's happening just for 2.1 or firmware before this.

I also own an ipod touch 8gb which I am not willing to try updating album art to in case the same thing happens, but all art on there is working ok. but I do know same albums and cover art have been use for both devices.

In the few days I have been searching for an answer, no one has been able to give an answer to what's happening but I seriously don't think it's an issues with my pc/music/album art if anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

My setup is exactly the same as spicymeat's:

iPhone: 3G 16gb
iPhone Software: 2.1
Sync: Manual
OS: Windows XP

You're not going to believe this but while I was fiddling around with the iPhone I think I may have sorted this issues, it's a bit fiddly but may work for you guys.

When I was syncing music to my iPhone I would click and drag the folder which contained music and dragged it into the the iphone icon in itunes (not into the itunes playlist, but directly to the phone icon) and once the music was on the phone I would then edit the cover art. I did however start to drag some more music into the itunes playlist for some reason (maybe fate) and once it was in the play list I updated the cover art and then copied from the play list to the phone and it worked.

I tested this by deleting music with issues, doing the above steps then it worked.

I hope it works for you guys with the same issues.
