Address book won't launch

Address book won't launch

I am running address book v. 4.1.1 on OX 10.5.5 and it will not launch. I keep getting the message "The application Address Book quit unexpectedly." Help I need my address book! I can copy the problem detail report to this message if that helps unravel the problem (to me, it looks like a bunch of gibberish).

G5, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

do post the crash report. maybe someone can glean something from it. also, did this start after 10.5.5 upgrade? do you use mobileme? do you have any smartgroups in your address book?

Do this:
Create a NewFolder on your desktop

Open a finder window, navigate to
"home folder"/Library/Prefrences/, move everything inside that folder to the NewFolder

Log out from your account and back in, open Address Book -did it open?

If YES:
move everything form NewFolder back to "home folder"/Library/Prefrences/, do NOT replace when asked. Delete the NewFolder after

If NO:
You might want to back up your ApplicationSupport folder and reinstall Address Book
