Maximum value for accelerometer reading

Hello All,

Does anyone know the maximum accelerometer reading the iPhone is capable of. I made a simple app to test this and it seems like I can't get anything higher than 2.307 on the x-axis no matter how fast I swing it. I didn't see anything like this in UIAccelerometer docs. Does anyone know anything regarding this? Thanks.

Well...i AM a martial arts master 😉

But seriously, I can achieve the maximum value of 2.307413 (approx) with an average lob of my arm, by no means fast.

I found out that this might be a software restriction put in place to ensure a range that the accelerometer is accurate over...but I would like to have the option of expanding that if possible.

Yeah, I think I'll have to put in an enhancement request to apple and see if that bears any fruit. In the meantime can you let me know if you (or anyone else out there) ever see a value coming from acceleration.x y or z that is greater than that value I specified? There's a chance my code is just weird but I all I am doing is just displaying the values as they come in so I don't think I've done anything wrong. Thanks.

Hello,
Can you indicate me who is the manifacturer of iPhone accelerometer?

I'm looking for some info on a accelerometer like this: even roughm nothing top secret. 🙂
I'm making a study analysis of hardware in console e smartphone. I'm trying to understand more or less how much a accelerometer costs to an enterprise, considering that I'll need several thousand of them.

Any help is well accepted, thanks!
