SD Card Slot available?

Hello,
I'm thinking about buying a Macbook Pro within the next month or so.
I would love to know, how to use a usual SD memory card with it. Do I have to purchase a USB Card reader, or is there another option like a built in card reader?

There is not a built-in card reader. You can use a USB card reader, or an ExpressCard card reader (I have one from SIIG that works nicely for Sd, xD, etc., basically everything except CF cards).

If you use SDHC cards Lexar and Sandisk include a USB reader free when you get the cards so your cash outlay can be zero.

i love apple and own a macbook, imac and iphone but why oh why is there not a media card slot on there desktops and laptops????
ok its not a big prob to connect up a USB card reader, but having some slots would be great! 🙂

You are very right and I have been saying this for quite a while. Macs have great graphics and are used for such projects yet no media card slot. I use the one on my HP 3-in-1 printer. But with only 2 USB ports on my MBP, my desk will soon house more USB hubs.
