Nano and TV link? HMMMM

Really curious here. I have an Ipod photo and love being able to hook it up to the tv to view photos. What is different about the Nano that it won't allow this? To me, it holds photos and seems like a mini Iphot with its color screen. What is missing? Love to buy one, but this seems like a bummer that we can't view them on a tv. Axfully small screen. And, scratching seems to be a major issue. Any thoughts?

It's different because Apple did not build in the 'TV" out processing into the nano.

Probably for a few reasons :-

1. Cost
2. Size
3. Differentiate from bigger iPods

I'm surprised it doesn't offer this feature. To offer photos, have the color screen and the interface --- it sounds like this is nothing more than software related.

Would you be surprised if future software updates (and ahem..new accessories) allowed this feature?

Yes because their is no video connector in the headphone port. There would half to be something through the dock connector.

Also, photos are currently only optimized for display on the nano's screen. They wouldn't have the necessary resolution and quality to display well on a TV screen, and would consume too much storage space in such a case.

Notice, Pin 8 is labeled as Video out. Is this an option? Hmmmmm.
