Oscilloscope effect

I'm trying to create an oscilloscope or light organ effect that I can sync with a vocal narration. Anyone had any experience doing this in Final Cut Studio??

FCP is an editing application. You need to do this in Motion. And the latest Motion does support audio syncing like you describe.

HOW? I dunno...I just know it is there.

My apologies,

I may be posting in the wrong section of the forum. I understand that FCP is for editing, as well as capturing. I'm looking for an idea of capturing a sine wave or converting audio track waveforms to a video track.

Just talking out loud now....

Shoot it off a scope.

Motion or After Effects are no brainers for many frequency and amplitude audio displays but accurate sine waves are bit more complicated.

I've never tried it but several peers have used sine wave plugins for iTunes Visualizer and shot the screen or captured the screen animation.
