I cannot edit Draft e-mails in Mac Mail

hello all: after using AOHell for more than a decade, I'm finally trying Mac Mail, but I'm not off to a good start. I cannot edit draft e-mails... at all. Now maybe to some programmers, that's not such a big deal but to me it's HUGE.

Here's what happens: Once I've saved a draft e-mail, no matter whether it's saved on the Apple server, or on my own hard drive, if I highlight a word within the body of the e-mail to make a change, and hit "delete" with the word highlighted, the entire e-mail draft gets deleted! If I highlight the subject and try to change it, it won't let me. If I try to type something new into the body of the e-mail, I get the beep sounds to warn me it can't be done.

This appears to have stumped Apple's Tech Support. They want me to archive and re-install my entire OS. That seems like radical surgery for this issue.

I welcome your thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks!

Hi LN,

<<Open your draft folder and double click on a draft message - this will open a normal compose window which you can edit>>

I did exactly that and guess what -- It doesn't edit, doesn't work. I cannot edit a draft, in any way shape or manner. any attempt to change it either causes it to disappear, or else I get the warning beeps that the said action can't be done.

Thanks.

Robin
