it's been a long time since i made the update with tiger and then i switched to 10.5.4.
now before making the update, have anyone found problems with these interfaces:

Yes, it is wise to disconnect MIDI/Audio interfaces, probably the expresscard as well.

Can't answer your other questions but I haven't heard of any problems.

Hi.
Il have heavy problems with RME FIRE FACE 400 on the new macbookpro (the "unibody" machine).
I use a cable 800/400, because there is only one 800 on the machine.

The RME FIRE FACE 400, with all last drive, and Firmware updated doesn't work.

The Window mixer and matrix window refuse to mount, at the same time the menu bar is in the right place.
i see the Fire Face in the pref panels, can select it, but no sound, only clics, cracks.

i use the same install on my 10.4.x macPro Xeon, without any problems.
i use the same install on an old macBookpro, under 10.5.5, without any problems.

So ? it seems that the new mac book pro (the unibody i mean) comes with an special system,
10.5.5 only available on the "15 inch" new macBookPro ?

Is That the problem ?
i reinstall the system, without results.

What can I do ? For me it's a ****, ten days from live concerts...

Please help ? somebody ? Apple engineer ?

Eric,

I think the problem may be with the Lucent (Agere) firewire chip that's in the new unibody MBP. Checking the RME forum is a good idea.

Some of the recent MB & MBP's also used the Agere chipset and also had problems with the RME, and possibly other audio hardware. Earlier model MB/MBP used the Texas Instruments chip which is highly regarded by audio/video hardware vendors.
