Unknown Error 4300, cannot burn disk in iTunes

exactly the same issue. Its really annoying.

I have the same problem. This started sometime in Itunes 7.5 or 8.0 code. My wife is driving me nuts about it and its frustrating me that I can't burn music I buy from the Itunes store.

Any suggestions apple tech?

I am also having the same problem. I recently upgraded my system from an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+ and Asus A8N-E motherboard to an Intel Core-Duo E8400 and Asus P5Q motherboard. The DVD drive, an LG GSA 4167b, is the same. iTunes itself runs much smoother now, but for some reason will not burn CDs (unknown error 4300). This is curious, as I have burned many CDs with this drive using iTunes on my old system. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as removing and old version (4) of a Nero Suite I had kicking around. I cannot seem to find a list of iTunes error codes anywhere and there does not seem to be any real answers to this error code. Yes, the drive is plugged in properly (sATA) 😉

I'm having the same issue - but the error is a 4000 error. Where is iTunes support staff when we need them? I have followed all their recommended diagnostics and settings, but still get the same error. Help. Someone. Anyone.

I'm having the same issue, pretends to burn then shoots me this:

"The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred (4300)."

Had this problem twice now.Fixed it both times by changing the burn speed.
First time reduced it from 8x to 4x,second time increased it to 6x.So far so good.
May be worth a try?

I get this error or 4000, 4850.
The backup fails.
I just wanted to backup my Purchases and it doesn't work.
Using iTunes 8.0.2.20
