I seem to have lost some songs that I bought on itunes via my iphone after syncing my phone to my computer. I don't have it set to update automatically either. How can I get those songs back and prevent this in the future?

There is a list in itunes of all the music you bought, right beneath "itunes store". Your computer must be activated, to be able to play the music you bought. (->Store->activate Computer)
Then you can transfer music you bought with your phone to your computer.

    Hi Michelle,

I am having the same problem. To respond to Ingo's response, my computer is already authorized. The added wrinkle is that when I transfer my iphone purchases to my PC, the "Purchased on iphone" play list also disappears. I am now out 3 albums I bought on my iphone. Needless to say I am not happy and quite frustrated!

To see what you have purchased go to the Menue->Store->check for Purchases, (make sure you're connected to the internet and logged in to the store).
And don't forget to back up your Purchased Playlist from time to time

I too am having the same problem. When I buy songs from itunes directly from my Iphone 3G, then later Sync from my Itunes on my PC, the songs are then deleted from my iphone. What's worse is the songs are NOT copied to my PC so Iim basically out. I have done this several times and each time the songs are deleted. The only way to retrieve them is to buy them again.
My advice right now is DON'T BUY SONGS directly from your iphone.
I also don't think you can transfer songs you buy from iphone to your PC. In fact, the documentation says you can't!
Any help would also be appreciated. (I don't check "Auto sync songs" in ituns.)

One thing that might help out.

Here is a link to the itunes store customer support that might help out./

If you have search your hard drive and the music is not there and is not on your iphone any more, there is a link at the bottom of the article to contact itunes store customer service.

    Hope this helps.

Hi there, I have a similar story. I bought some music on my computer and synched my phone and it was transfered to my iphone. Then a few days later I bought some more music and synched again. for some reason I got the new stuff on my iphone and the old stuff was removed. Now I can see it sitting in my itunes account and despite synching the computer and my iphone, the older lot of music does not download or transfer onto my iphone and I can't work out how to do it. Does anyone know how to transfer music from the pc to my iphone?

    Please help
