How do I change the author of my podcast?

I recently made a podcast for my friend's band through podomatic and submitted it to the iTunes store. It works and all but when I set the podomatic account up, I set it up in my name. So on the iTunes store page it has MY name and I need to find a way to remove it, as to not take away from the band haha.

I've already gone back to podomatic and replaced my name with the band's name. I'm not sure if iTunes will update this information like it does the podcasts or not.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It should change, but it may take a bit of time for it to happen. It's much the same as adding a new episode: I find this usually takes around 24 hours but it can be longer.

Hi! I'm having this same problem. I signed up with Libsyn, and if one searches "stitches in time" in I-tunes, my podcast comes up, but it lists my e-mail address and then my "name" in parenthesis, which is how it is listed on the Basic tab in Libsyn. I'd like just my name to come up. I changed what I wanted my name to be on the I-tunes tab on the Libsyn site under Author. This shows up correctly when you click on the icon for the podcast in I-tunes - the icon that shows up on a blue background under the "podcasts" category. But the correct author name does NOT show up just from running the search "stitches in time." You have to click on the podcast icon first to see the correct information.

Do I need to re-submit my podcast to I-tunes to get the correct author information listed after the initial search? Does anyone know about Libsyn - am I just out of luck, because on the Basic tab in Libsyn, it lists my e-mail address and that's just the way it's going to be?

Also, you've probably gathered I'm not tech savy at all, so as simple as you can make it would make me grateful and be most useful. Thanks for your time!

Re-submitting will simply get you a notice that the podcast has already been submitted. I don't think there is much you can do: the Author info will probably update eventually in the search results, but it can take some days for iTunes to update some aspects of the information for a podcast.

Sure there is: you can ping iTunes to notify them that there have been changes to your rss feed. Instructions on how to ping iTunes are available in the podcast technical specifications page.

You can ping the iTunes server to update your podcast information by entering the following URL into a browser:
https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=FEEDID
where FEEDID is your iTunes podcast numeric ID. You can also use:
https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?feedURL=http://FEEDURL
where FEEDURL is the url for your feed.
Regardless of the ping method you use, iTunes will return an HTTP 200 code.
