How do I get Garage Band back?

When I first got my computer, I deleted garage band (which was stupid) because I didn't think I needed it.....so now that I need it, I don't have it anymore...I tried downloading it but it didn't work. So is there any way to get it back without paying for it?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Reinstall it from the computer's original disks. This won't erase anything currently on the hard disk.

Look for an item named iLife.pkg or iLife.mpkg and open it.
