Quicktime video

In QuickTime Pro 7.5.5 when I try to do a video recording I get:

The operation could not be completed due to an unknown error. (NSError "Mac OS error -536870164" Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-536870164)

Does anyone know how to fix this?

MacBook Pro Intel, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

Same error here in Germany. When recording from DV, at 15MB-100MB the recording stops:

Der Vorgang konnte aufgrund eines unbekannten Fehlers nicht abgeschlossen werden. (Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=268451843 "Der Vorgang konnte nicht abgeschlossen werden. (OSStatus-Fehler 268451843.)")

Now the DV-cam is not found by Quicktime. I have to restart my Mac, so that it takes notice of cam video. After the error it's gone again.

My DV-cam is a Panasonic NV-GS200.

I've already cleared chaches, deleted the pref's and turned all start-up items off. Still the same.

I've searched in this forum and discovered, that it's often helpful to install the latest combo-update and repair the permissions.

So I did and everthing's working now!

I have the same problem, am fully up to date, permissions repaired, pram zapped, and it still doesn't work... os 10.5.5, 2GHz G5, Quicktime 7.5.5.. Any further suggestions?
