Yahoo Messenger for MAC

I've tried installing Yahoo Messenger Version 3.0, but as soon as I double click the copied icon it simply bounces a couple of times and disappears...can anyone please explain? I had Yahoo Messenger in the past, and it worked fine, but I had to do a complete software reinstall. I liked using Yahoo Messenger for MAC because my parents live overseas and it works best for them to see my son via webcam.

Powerbook G4, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

Hi, tvpappy. On the Yahoo Messenger homepage, it's noted that v. 3.0 Beta requires at least os X 10.4. If you're still running 10.3.x (as the System Info below your post indicates), then that's why YM 3.0 Beta doesn't run on your machine.

Is it possible to download an older version for MAC that will work with 10.3?

I don't use YM or any other IM software myself, and I've no idea whether an older version for the Mac is available. There's a downloads link on that page I referenced above; why not see what's offered there?
