Who's Buying....

I figured I would just throw something out there in anticipation of the new Macbook and Macbook Pros.

Because within the next few days, there will most likely be people asking if they should get one or wait, or possibly if FCP will work on the new Macbooks or stuff like that. Just bracing for impact. 😉

You all know all too well how this goes. Enjoy.

I guess Firewire 400 is OUT...! Passé.

Passé huh? Tell that to everyone with DV and HDV cameras who want to capture their family vacation and edit it with iMovie on their new MacBooks but...OH, they can't! No firewire, and they can't capture video via USB from those cameras. So...stuck.

Bad move away from a standard...

I for one, when I can afford it, will be buying a refirb...

My earlier post was aimed to the MacBookPro crowd.

With regard to the MacBook, I don't get what the fuss is all about. The MacBook will be a wonderful device for students, bloggers, graphic designers etc. It is not - *nor has it ever been* - designed as a video editing machine.

Oh believe me, I am not fussing... I got a Macbook pro, and I love it. No issues here. And I was going to post the same thing you just did. Leave the Macbook to the students and the casual computer user. It's a great product. I have one of those too, for my wife. She loves it. Small, powerful. Sends her emails like a champ. Plays music too. I even watched an internet video on it. That was cool... Word works on it. So does Photoshop. I'm sorry, what was the fuss again...? Oh I get it, someone wants to buy an HV20 but they are upset that they can't plug their P2 card into it and shoot Uncompressed HD...

Oh, that one's easy. Get a big hammer and slam that plug home. In engineering terms, it's called an interference fit. Plug it in once and never disconnect it.

(note to children: This is sarcasm. A deliberate, serious attempt to insert a FW800 plug into a USB2 port will result in permanent damage to the computer and a dope slap when you come here to complain.)
