It would be so awesome for Apple to come out with an adapter for Display port to ADC, so we can easily utilize our older ADC Apple Display that work so beautifully yet today. I hate the idea of having to buy multiple adapters.
Has anybody actually got this to work? I've just tried it -- have an ADC monitor w/ DVI adapter -- that worked fine with my (first generation) MacBook Pro's DVI input. I tried adding the ($29) DisplayPort adapter, but my (new) MacBook doesn't see the monitor. No amount of restarting/"Detect Displays" shows any recognition of the external screen. Any ideas?
I'm having the same issue with my 23 ADC Cinema Display. I hope we don't have to buy the dual link adapter. I'm guessing it wont work so we have to buy new monitors.
I got it to work hooking up the new MacBook Pro to a 23" ADC Cinema Display, but only when using the Apple DVI to ADC Adapter. Would not work when using Dr. Bott's DVIator, or an Addlogic 2-port ADC to DVI KVM switch (although both work with my Powerbook G4). Perhaps there's some non-standard "signaling" in third-party ADC adapters?
