Iphone 2g headset online repair program

Hi!

I've got a 2g iPhone.

Could you tell me why in the online repair service i can't ask to repair my iPhone earphones as for the iPod?

My earphones don't work very well right now, so i tried to use the online service assistant ( https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do) as i did last year for my iPod, but there isn't the option to ask for a earphones fix (usually for the iPod i sent them the old one and they send me a new pair).

Can you tell me why?

since you are in Italy, i would assume going to an apple store is not a convenient option. in which case, it might be better to call apple and speak to someone, since theres no option online for the earphone. i recently had mine replaced cuz the rubber around the earbuds wore off.

did you use the telephone way (and not the online way) to ask Apple to replace them?

i went to the store.

when making the appt., there too, was no option for earphone (so i just put iPhone). walked in, showed him the earphones, they replaced it, no questions asked.
