iTunes 8 Fixing Track Info -SLOW!!!

It takes up to ten times longer for this version to fix any info corrected ie artist name, album. iTunes used to be MUCH more quicker. The spinning ball appears and appears. Software bugs here! Waiting for yet another update... this is POOR!

HI Larry,

Are you currently doing any Mac maintenance? Try Repairing Disk Permissions and see if iTunes speeds up a bit.

Launch Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities). In the panel on the left select MacintoshHD 10.x.x, select the FirstAid tab, then click Repair Permissions. When it's finished, quit DU.

Also, check to see how much available disk space you have. Select the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop, then press Command + I. The Get Info window will open. Look for the General tab and click the black arrow so it faces down. You will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free drive space, 20% is preferred. If this is the case, you need to copy files over to an external source.

Carolyn 🙂
