Trackpad repair cost

Since this is a user to user forum I would doubt anyone could give you an accurate estimate as to repair cost....perhaps a call to a UK Apple Store is order...make an appointment with a 'Genius'

I don't believe the individual part is available. You'll likely need an entire upper case complete with the keyboard, power button, and trackpad assembly. Here's an American retailer selling used/tested upper cases, if you want an idea of cost. They sell "A stock" and "B stock" depending on their evaluation of condition.

If it really is that big a deal, I would suggest using a mouse as a lower-cost temporary or permanent fix. My wife absolutely killed a trackpad button (it hangs funny) on her Dell laptop playing games, and a cheap mouse worked wonders. I prefer to use a mouse anyways, as they're easier to replace if something goes bad. I save the trackpad for those times where I'm barely moving my mouse around, or for trackpad tapping in place of the button press.
