Can WaveBurner create an image (.iso) file instead of burning to an actual CD? I couldn't find a way to do it. It would be a really great feature (Toast does it, for example).
Mac Pro (Intel),
Mac OS X (10.4.8),
Logic Studio 8.0.2
... the so called ".iso" file suffix is in fact an ".lso" suffix, an "L" not an "I"... It is the suffix logic uses to distinguish Logic SOngs or projects (an "L" an "S" and an "O") - this means it is not a audio-file but a kind of logic "document" which includes the original audio files, midi data etc, plus all the stuff you did with them- only viewable in logic with its own user and graphical interface. So I guess its a conversion Waveburner isn't built to make give it assumes you created all those songs in logic anyhow... I admit it doesn't make sense though.
No, I'm most definitely talking about an .iso, not an .lso. I'm talking about a CD image file -- the kind that mac os x can mount as if it were a real CD.
Change your /location/CDName.dmg to the location and name of the existing .dmg file, and replace /location/CDName.iso with the location/name for the new .iso image.
True, it won't be an Audio CD, but there's no reason why you can't save the files that constitute an Audio CD as data. And of course you can make a disc image of data. I do it all the time (I call it "backing-up"). Mounting the disc image will not result in an Audio CD appearing on your desktop, obviously; but the files will still be playable.
