Where are the speakers located on the 13" Aluminum MacBook?

From the available pictures I have been able to determine that the "sub woofer" module is located between the optical drive and the rear of the chassis. While I have seen pictures of the unmounted left and right channel speakers I have not been able to determine where they are located.

The sound output from the new aluminum MacBook is both louder and clearer than my previous white Macbooks but while the speaker openings were clearly visible on the older MacBooks I cannot locate any speaker grills on the new unit.

Are the speakers located at the ends of the keyboard and do they radiate through the keyboard openings?

Actually, now that I've listened to the keyboard, it seems that the speakers are located under the keyboard on the right and left sides and the sound radiates around the keys.

I'm having an issue with my speakers. If I turn them to full volume and play music, they make a terrible scratching noise. I guess it sounds a bit like static. The noise gets better when I pick up my MacBook and worse if it's on a desktop. Is this to be expected with this type of speaker? I know I can't be an audiophile with a notebook, but I would expect $1600 to buy me at least decent sound... Should I take it back to the store?
