Forgetting to End Call...

I'm with Rogers in Canada on a plan which allows free incoming calls, but only 150 minutes outgoing calls. When my wife wants to talk she calls me (from iPhone) but I usually let it ring a few times then I'll call her back.

Every once and a while though I'll pick up and let her talk (her calling me). When the conversation becomes somewhat lengthy I usually tell her "hang up and I'll call you back -it's free". A few times though she forgets to 'End Call' so when I try to call her back, she's still on the line, unknowingly.

This is scary, for should the line remain open for several hours (while phone in her purse), I'm looking to spend big bucks. It's not like a flip phone when you can just end the call by closing it.

Question: Is there some app that would 'kill' the call when idle? (no voice?) Is there some solution?

ok that sounds wierd, why dont you hang up. If one side hands up the other side is going to drop the call anyway. Am i not getting it? 🙂 🙂

When you hang up, it should disconnect the call.

Don't let her charge the battery above 40% until she starts remembering to push the button. 🙂

Okay, this is (again) the scenario. She calls me from the iPhone. I tell her "I'll call you back". But when I try, I can hear her talking to other people, walking, etc. Her phone is just not hung up.

The obvious solution is to just never answer, then call back. But if the phone is still online, I can't reach her. I yell, scream for her to end the **** call, but to no avail.

That sounds like a service issue. Have you contacted your provider. There wont be an app that does this because in normal case it has to hang up.

Sounds like a service problem. When you end the call, her phone should disconnect within a few seconds. If the line is staying open, there is a problem.

If you can Still hear her on the line then you never hung up in the first place, OR the iphone is answering your call on its own.

I realize this happens more often with me with landlines. It usually knows when a cell phone is hung up but I also see that it will not end calls when it's taken from a land line.... I would also like to see this addressed. http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html to tell apple!
