AE and dLan

Hi I have been trying unsuccessfully to get my iTunes library to stream via my WiFi to my AE (and to hifi)but regular have been suffering from dropouts which I suspect are due to the very solid brick walls the WiFi has to get through as well as interference.
Anyway I am thinking of setting up a dLan network connecting to my router, iMAC and AE via the ethernet sockets on the dLan plugs. The question is would this work? and would it solve the dropout problem?
