Airport Express A1088

I recently bought an Airport Express on ebay. I thought I was buying the 802.11n model - I don't think I have (shouldn't have been so impulsive). So I've been trying to get some specs on it based on its model number, A1088. I can't find anything, punch that number into Google/Apple and nothing useful comes back.

Does anybody have a link or some info on this particular device? Also, as I've kind of resigned myself to it being the slower model is there anyway to upgrade it, say via firmware?

Cheers

I would buy an older model because I'm only using a "G" network on airport extreme base station. I want something that's compatible with my panther OS so I can stream radio off itunes to my basement. Is your model compatible with 10.3.9?
I may go window shopping tomorrow to see if there are any older units still around. In the meantime I can always resort to my fm transmitter but sometimes soon I'll probably buy and older airport extreme so I can just plug powered speakers into it.

Searching Google with the terms "airport express 1088" turned up a discussion at

in which user linathael posted a msg referencing an AX A1088 he purchased in 2004. So it appears you have an 802.11b/g model.

No firmware update to convert a b/g model to g/n is available. I'm not sure this would even be possible because the n spec requires the ability to transmit/receive at 5 GHz (in addition to 2.4 GHz, to provide backward compatibility with g), whereas the b and g specs use 2.4 GHz only.
