iTunes Won't Download Album Art?

A Few Days Ago iTunes Was Downloading Album Art For Me Without Any Problems
And Now Suddenly It's Just Stopped Working
I've Tried Re-Installing iTunes But It Still Won't Work

It Would Be Great If Someone Would Get Back To Me With A Way To Fix This Problem

I've been having this same problem, sort of. I can't seem to find out how to get the artwork onto my Ipod instead. And it's not able to download some artwork but my sister was able to get the same CD's artwork on her mac.

I have the same problem. I just bought an Aluminum MacBook a few days ago. When I first got it, I wanted to put it through its paces and import a few CDs. The first CD I did correctly imported the art. Then Apple update caught up and had me update to iTunes 8.0.1 (12). Since then I haven't been able to import album artwork.

I have the automatic download checked and am also signed in to iTunes music store. Even when I right click and select download artwork, it won't work. I see the status bar at the top change to reflect download activity and nothing happens. After a few seconds it disappears and nothing happens. If I try the right click method again, the status no longer pops up. I'm guessing it's a bug in the new iTunes...

Hey Cammy,

Are you seeing an error in iTunes?

Make sure iTunes preferences are set to automatically download album art as described here:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1815

Can you download a FREE on itunes track? If you delete the artwork for that track does iTunes find it? FREE on iTunes content can be found by going to iTunes> iTunes Store> FREE on iTunes( near the bottom center of the page).

Hi Jason,

I know you asked Cammy, but I gave it a try anyway. Yes, I can get the album art from the free downloads off iTunes Store. I deleted the artwork just like I said, waited a few seconds, right clicked, and selected download artwork. It worked just fine for two of the free songs. I hope that info helps.

I just realized that the first CD I imported was done with iTunes default settings. Thus, it was encoded as AAC. I then realized this and switched to mp3. That's when I couldn't get the album art anymore. Until last night.

A strange thing happened last night though, one of my mp3 albums was able to download the artwork, but the others couldn't.

I tried importing a new CD as AAC this morning, and guess what? It'll download the album art with no problem, even after I go back and delete it.

Just some more clues to help solve this.
