I'm having the same exact issue. My work mail is setup on exchange through my iPhone. If I delete a message on my iPhone, it deletes on my desktop almost instantaneously. However, deleting or moving the email on my desktop may take as long as a day before disappearing off of my iPhone.

It will delete on the iPhone but it is definitely not syncing in short order!

I am having the same issue. At this point, I would just like to figure out how to now delete the email off the iPhone. I go to delete from the phone and it comes back with a message that it cannot move the mail message. I have about 40 orphaned emails on the phone I want to remove. The only thing I can figure out is to remove the account and then re-install it.

I addressed this in another topic, but my boss is having a similar issue.

Email deleted on the iPhone is reappearing after 15-20 seconds indicating that it is NOT being deleted from the Exchange server.

This appears to be an Entourage issue because if we close down Entourage and just use Outlook (through VMWare's Fusion 2 product), the email IS deleted and doesn't reappear.

I am still testing to see if this is something I can fix through a setting in Entourage, but am not hopeful.

It's not normal, but has happened to me too.
- Happens only when I'm playing about with the phone (syncing) (I use fetch) and on my desktop deleting emails at the same time.

Only solution I have found is to re-create the Exchange account on the iphone. My server reboots every Sunday and I'm hoping that clears it.... We'll see...

Crap isn't it, but quite a widespread problem.

This very issue:

Mail deleted on Outloot/XP but not iphone, just cropped up with me in the past two days. I've been running exchange on the iphone for the past two months. Prior to this, deletion synching was almost instantaneous.

I've come to the conclusion that I might do the same as another poster suggested: delete my exchange account/setup on the iphone and then recreate it.

I re-created my Exchange account when I first started noticing this issue a couple weeks ago and it hasn't resolved the issue. This was one one of the more impressive things about the iPhone was how well it worked. If I remember right, I was notified of an carrier update. Probably not related, but since this update, I can delete from the desktop and the only way it will clear from my iPhone is if I check mail. My only other idea is to do a restore, but I am going to live with it until I can find a fix.

I have the same issue, when deleting the trash folder in mail, the inbox on the iPhone resolves itself!

What's interesting is I never used to have this issue, it all worked fine for over 1 year! What's more interesting is that if I delete a mail in entourage connected to my exchange server it also deletes on the iPhone inbox, however if I delete a mail in mail.app connected to the same exchange account it does not delete it from the inbox on the iphone until I empty the trash in mail.app (seems to be a mail.app issue)!

Anyone know any workarounds?
