ScreenSaver Banner

Hello All...
Quick and very general question.. Is there any way to put a "banner" on the iphone screensaver??
Can this banner be superimposed over the screensaver image? Just like on a regular ol' cell phone??
Thanks!!

Yes. Great suggestion. This is exactly what I do. It takes a little more time to edit your photos that you want as your wallpaper with your contact information, then sync it and apply it, but it's well worth it. Someone else mentioned an App you could purchase. OR...

You can download the App named "If found" by MobilityWare. It's FREE. This Allows you to choose any of your photos, apply text over it, and then apply it as your wallpaper. This way someone who may find your iphone can see your contact info. on your wallpaper without having to "log in" to your phone.

And finally, if all else fails, there are many Iphone cases you can purchase online for fairly cheap that offer custom engraving on the back which can include your name, number, email, etc. Just a thought...

nychava,

While the iPhone itself doesn't have this capability built in, I found an app that may be of interest to you on the App Store. It's called "Lost Phone" : http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=287234146&mt=8

As always, you can submit feature requests to Apple via their feedback channel: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

Hope this helps,

I would like to know because I keep lots of info on my phone and therefore, I keep it password protected.. However, a few weeks ago I lost my phone, and no one could even attempt to return it to me because it was locked up. I would like to be able to put an "IF FOUND" banner on the front of the phone. with no insurance available for the iphone, it would be a smart, (although quite hopeful) back up plan. thanks for responding!!

It can be done if you have a graphics editing program on you Mac/PC.

You just need to create an image on your computer which is 420 x 320px with all the details you want on it.

Then sync that picture to your iPhone.

Use the Photos application and browse for your picture and tap on it.

Tap the left most button on the button bar and choose 'Use as Wallpaper'.

your chosen image, complete with 'If found text' will now be displayed as your wallpaper.

That's how I did mine anyway.

Hope that helps.
