Yellow half circle on screen

Does anyone have this issue? I have a first generation IPHONE. I am now noticing a half circle yellow mark on the bottom of my screen. Takes up about 3/4 of the width of screen and about 1/2 inch high. I am running the latest software version. Is there a fix for this? I am still within my 1 year warranty with Apple. Can I get a trade in?

If you believe your iphone to be defective you may make an appointment at the Genius Bar. If it is found to be defective, they will give you a replacement. It will be a first generation iphone. You will not get a "trade in" for the 3g. If you would like a 3g you may purchase one like everyone else.

Is it software related, or an error with your screen?

The way to find this out is to take a 'snap shot' of your screen, by quickly pressing the off and home buttons together.
If its the screen, it wont show on the snap shot. If its software it will show on the snap shot, and you can also post the pic to show people what you mean.
