MacBook Battery not charging, Superdrive not reading installation disc....

Are these two components relative? Very recently, I've left my MacBook in "sleep" mode, the battery could have probably "drained" and placed the the battery in a deep slumber state, now, it doesn't want to charge anymore. I've checked the cycle state, it's already 327, hmmm, maybe my battery is indeed worn-out already. But the weird part is, the SuperDrive doesn't want to read ANY installation discs that's being inserted, i was worried the superdrive is damagaed so i popped in some discs, luckily, DVDs are still being played which proves that the drive is still working. Why on earth does my Superdrive does't acknowledge my installation discs. The disc is okay, I've tested it on my other iMac. What seems to be the problem? Is battery failure relative to a Superdrive not being able to do installation?

Hi wilzwobf15

Have you tried inserting a known good CD into your super drive, as well as a known good DVD.. Examples of these are a non burned CD and a DVD movie.

If those are both read then you know it's a problem with the source media.. However if it cannot read CD's then it's something prolly hardware.

A good way to check is insert your first installation disc and boot your computer holding down the "d" key until you get to the Apple Hardware Test and run a quick test to see if you have an errors come up...

I would highly suggest to take your MB into a genius bar and have someone look at it.

As to the battery, it is possible that it is pooched. 327 is quite high.. You can try and reset the SMC:

If that doesn't help it, you may need to purchase a new battery.
