Calendar: iPhone doesn’t sync with iCal or MobileMe

I’ve only had my iPhone a few days so forgive the question:
I’ve set up everything correctly (I think) and my Contacts and Calendars etc all sync’d to iPhone. However, I entered an event on my iPhone at 3 o’clock this afternoon, and neither my iCal calendar, nor the calendar under MobileMe have updated.
I’ve gone into MobileMe preferences and even clicked ‘Sync Now’ and now half an hour later still neither is showing this new event. I thought they were supposed to sync up every 15 minutes?
What might I be doing wrong?
Thanks,
Andy

I realize what you are trying to do, but what are you doing in regards to syncing contact information and calendar events with your iPhone?

If you are syncing contact information and calendar events with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, this means you don't have over the air syncing enabled for contacts and calendars for your MM account preferences on your iPhone.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Select your MobileMe account.

Is Contacts and Calendars on?

UPDATE 2:
The event has just arrived in iCal as well now.
Seems a bit odd, as I entered the event into iPhone at about 3 this afternoon and it’s now 7:30pm. But it’s there now so I guess everything is set up as it should be - I haven’t touched anything. I’ll see how things go over the next couple of days.
Thanks for your help anyway!

I have the very same problem.
I got a G5 2*2GHz which does not show iCal changes from my iPod Touch, but they are visible on my Intel based MacBook Pro. How bisarre!
I have turned OFF the birthday iCal events since this has been known to cause locking of the iCal calendar. But now it still seems like iCal is not responding in the G5.

How many years do I have to wait for synching to work properly...???
(I got a MobileMe account with all devices turned on, but the iPod is not in the list)

Thanks ful for any suggestions.
