my treo 680 vs iphone vs Blackberry bold?

Ok, I have had Treo's for years now and love the way they are so simple to use.

I am thinking of getting either a blackberry bold or an iphone and I wonder if anyone can comment on whether or not the following wish list items I have can become reality. My wife has an iphone 3G and I have used it a little but I still get the feeling it is behind in a lot of ways to a true smart phone for business/consumer users:

1/ I need to sync Entourage diary, tasks, notes & contacts (inc home and work entries)

2/ Need to search and find by word the whole iphone, so eg: if I am looking for "Chris" I want it to search notes, calender and contacts

3/ Need to be able to quickly grab a contact, jump to say "D" name contacts by hitting the letter D on the keypad

4/ Need to be able to MMS photos

5/ Every time I enter either a task reminder or calendar reminder with an alarm, I should be able to snooze it

6/ I want to be able to view a page that shows me Today's, tomorrows and any tasks outstanding

They are generally my requirements.

Can anyone tell me if this is all possible on the iphone?

TIA

Well I can only answer a couple of your questions for sure as they're currently available with the iPhone 2.0 software.
1. You can currently jump to a certain contact with the search function at the top of your contact list simply by entering the letter in the search box (or you can simply touch the letter "D" in this case on the ABC scroll bar to the right of your contact list.
2. You can snooze your alarms for 5 or 10 minutes I believe but not for tasks or appointments at all. You are however allowed to set 2 reminders for each appointment you have in iCal on your phone
3. It does also sync your Entourage contacts and appointments. You can set this up through iTunes in your phone settings
4. You cannot send MMS with the phone yet nor have I heard of any implications of this feature being added in the future but you never know.. cross your fingers
5. You can view a list of appts and tasks in iCal as you would on your computer as well as view the day, week, and month ahead. Again it can sync with Entourage, iCal, Outlook, even PocketMac.
As for me I've been switching between my Blackberry Curve and my iPhone has been relegated to an iPod Touch due to its current limitations.. I love it though and simply refuse to part with it due to its super coolness so I say get one anyway and hold on to it..

If movies, music, and Web are not part of your requirements then the iPhone is not for you. It does not do many of the task related things you want. that is OK for many of us, as is does other things very well.

But based on your needs the iPhone would be a disappointment. Personally, I love mine much better then the Blackberry or Windows Mobile - but my reqs are different then yours.

I think that'll probably be your best bet for now.. I went back to my Curve for similar reasons.. I hope with the next software update or maybe the next model (whichever is first) a lot of its simple shortcomings are addressed. It has a lot of cool things going for it but it surprisingly doesn't do a lot of the things even the most basic phones do.. It seems that Apple has a little more work to do to get the actual "phone" part of the iPhone right. I have no doubt they'll get it together though.. I hope its soon as I love the darned thing.. I just can't get it to do some of the things my BB does with relative ease...
