Connecting Monitor to iBook G4 - Resolution

no, there are no workarounds. you have to use it at supported resolution or get another monitor.

I've used this on my 14" iBook G4, and my wife is still using this with her 12" iBook G4.

My wife and I do not have any problems using 1280x1024 external monitors. The iBook monitor is the lower resolution and the external is a 2nd monitor with the 1280x1024 resolution.

I've never had to put my system to sleep. I just plug in the external monitor and it uses the previously configured settings. Unplug the monitor and all windows on the other montior get moved to the iBook's monitor (or at least a corner of the window).

It has been years since Screen Spanning Doctor was installed on my system, so I don't know if I did an initial reboot or not. I know it has been rebooted a lot since then, but those had nothing to do with Screen Spanning Doctor, rather those were for software updates, etc...
