Using hands free system in 2006 Prius with iPhone 3G

I just got a 3G and am very disappointed to find out it won't connect to the hands free system in my 2006 Prius. My questions: Why does it connect to some Prius's and not others? (This is the impression I get from reading others' posts). Also, does anyone know whether Apple or Toyota has any plans to fix this? BTW, my Prius owner's manual says that the built-in hands free system only supports HFP (Hands Free Profile) Ver. 1.0 and OPP (Object Push Profile) Ver. 1.1.

This is especially annoying since the hand free system worked fine with my 2G.

Help!

Thanks,

Kennen

hi Kennen, i too have a 2006 Prius and it pair up with my iPhone 3G no problem. Try unpair your 2G iPhone first in the Prius, then go through the pairing process again with the 3G, hopefully that would work for you. When i first got my 3G, i too have to unpair my old HTC6800 first with the Prius before things work properly.
