TM Progress Bar

Last night, I made adjustments and changes to my backup strategy (involving two external drives and the introduction of SuperDuper! cloning to the second drive). I then initiated a TM backup to the second drive and, for the first time since I began using TM, a TM progress bar began to appear in its own "Time Machine Backup" window in the Finder.

Is this progress bar really the "first time" appearance, or is it something that I've simply been oblivious to for all these months?

Many thanks!

Actually, though, I like it...it would be nice if it were an option one could invoke, rather than having to open the prefs panel or Console to track progress.

BTW: The TM backup I initiated last night is still running. I assume that's because I partitioned the 750 GB drive into two partitions (one for SD!, one for TM), and the TM partition isn't much larger than my 320 GB internal drive. However, since my internal drive is only half full, I'm not sure why TM is taking so long (85 GB of the 180 GB backed up so far, after 14 hours).

this shouldn't matter. but keep in mind that by default TM will back up all directly attached drives including your SD clone unless you exclude it from TM backups.

Huh?

TM is set up to back up to my other external drive; I want to use the "extra space" on the SD! drive to occasionally create a "skinny" TM backup (manually telling TM to do so) , as additional "insurance."
