Many of you with Wi-Fi problems are new to the Apple Support Forums and may not be aware of several Knowledge Base documents Apple has posted on iPod touch Wi-Fi issues.

I suggest you start your problem solving by reading through the following documents:

Unable to use Wi-Fi with iPhone or iPod touch because there's no Wi-Fi address listed for the device at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559

iPod touch and iPhone: Tips when using Wi-Fi at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

933mhz G4 Quicksilver with 10.3.9 - 1.33Ghz G4 12 Al PowerBook with OS 10.4.11., Mac OS X (10.4.11), I DO NOT receive any form of compensation from my recommendation or link.

But those are not solutions, those are just temporary workarounds, like resetting a device every time it doesn't want to connect to wi-fi is NOT a solution to the problem. Great apple that just works, but you have to turn it on and off a few times first;) At first I didn't see a big problem, but it's getting me pretty frustrated lately.

... but they may make the difference between getting a wi-fi connection and not getting one.

FWIW, I NEVER have problems on my home router. The only times I have had to resort to the 'off-on' procedure is when I am at a busy, public wi-fi site.

As I have written in other messages, I have found that my touch doesn't have the transmitted power to compete well with several laptop computers at public sites.
