NOT AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVING EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS ON MY IPHONE....HELP PLZ!

Well heres the problem a couple of days ago my iphone started acting up by not automatically alerting me when I would receive new emails, I have tried numerous of things to see if it would help but it didn't. So I was wondering if anybody out there could be of some assistance? I hope I am not the only one experiencing this problem

me.com is giving automatic notifications. Yahoo is not.

Yes.. A lot of people are having the same problem.. You on 2.1 right? If you are like the rest of us, we are waiting on Apple to issue a patch.. Which they have given no word as to when they will be doing so..

Comes down to a bug Apple introduced in 2.1 that kills, or makes fetching unreliable at best, while the phone is asleep and on battery..

The Background fetching bug is not limited to any specific provider, but push is a different story. From what I have seen push is not effected by the bug Apple introduced in 2.1.. Have you tried a hard reset of your phone? To do that you hold down the sleep/wake button and the Home button at the same time for about 30 seconds. The phone will power down, start back up, and power down again.. You can then turn on the phone again after that.. See if that makes any difference..
