Vibration mode icon

I would be very useful if you could check your current ring mode (vibrating/ringtone) by looking at the status bar where there already are signal strength, carrier name, E/3G, lock, alarm, Bluetooth and battery indicators. Why not add the "bell"/"stroke thru bell" icon?

cuz you can look at the side of the phone where the switch is and see the red dot if you have it on silent.

Sorry but I know you were trying to be funny but one can choose in settings to NOT have vibrate on but still have sound. The side switch is SILENT. It doesn't have anything to do with vibrate.

Hence like other phones you can have the phone set to ring but not vibrate and one would know based on icons in it's status bar.

For the iPhone, there is no such icon but one can set it to not vibrate but still ring. Thus the original posters question.

Simple answer, there is no icon and you can suggest to this Apple via the Feedback page. http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
