Who LOVES their MBP ..

Thought I'd start this thread as I cannot believe some of the things that people complain about. I understand faults from the factory and general bad workmanship, but some of the things are truly amazing.

Anyway, I love my new MBP including the glossy screen.

Anyone else out there with me. Chime in and lets start a positive thread about an awesome computer ..

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Well in defense of them, at least the majority of the folks. The fact remains that we paid a premium for the computer and we all expect it to work as advertised. Screen stays upright, i.e., loose hings, clicks register, doesn't overheat etc.

Second thing, this is a tech support forum and being such the clear majority of people come here because they have a problem. There's a silent majority that have little reason to post here so it almost makes it like the MBP has a lot of problems when actually it doesn't

Finally I love my MBP, it runs a tad warmer then I'd prefer but in all, performance, function and looks are all top notch

I just received mine and love everything about it, except one thing; the weak display hinge.

My unit was just built recently and I was hoping Apple had addressed the issue by now, but I guess not. 😟

michael,

heaven forbid that one would have the choice between a matte or glossy screen! 😉

all kidding aside, i think the glossy-only option is a mistake on their part. as a consumer and somewhat of a professional, i would appreciate the choice over the like it or lump it approach apple's obviously taken on this issue.

there's nothing wrong with preferring a glossy screen, though. if that's what you prefer, then go for it! there are just a lot of people that would prefer matte.

I'm just gonna say I went from a 1.25PB
to a 2.53MBP.....the difference is just amazing.
I was messing with my PB because I thought it
was not at full brightness side by side with my MBP.
I keep hitting the brightness key but nothing happend. lol
I was already at full brightness the screen all of a sudden seemed dull
in comparsion.

my first mag-safe plug is a plus. my PB actually got tripped
over a long time ago came crashing down. I had to get the
adapter and female component replace this was CO$TLY.

Speed kills....I'm even picking up more wi-fi networks!
gestures-new to me I love it.
no latch-love the way it closes.
hard drive,battery access is brilliant.

I also like the glossy screen when powered down I use it as
a mirror to admire my dashingly handsome good looks
in the reflection. haha

Overall just a beautifully engineered machine inside and out. 🙂

Keep in mind that the discussion forums here are for people who have problems and are looking for answers, so it makes sense that they might be seen as, overall, negative. No problems with mine so far, but I've only had it for a couple hours now! Plus, I'm upgrading from a Power Mac G4, so I'm making quite a quantum leap in power here...!

Bought a new MBP 2.4Ghz all stock - no extras. Thus far it is the best notebook I have ever used. Only issue, and a minor one, was the DVD drive being set to Region 6 Asia and the Preferences seem to have Polish and a few other Eastern European languages enabled. Sort of odd, but easily fixed. No harm, no foul. Just popped in a 4GB OWC RAM kit and it's really snappy now. A+ so far.

I'm loving mine too, so far. It's still on it's way to me though.

Talk about quantum leaps, I'm still on an iBook G4! I cannot wait for it to arrive and I hope none of the issues mentioned in these forums become a reality for me... The trackpad won't be an issue for me because I use a mouse 99.5% of the time and the display never needs to be angled down... I'm hopeful that even if I do experience these things they won't get to me.
