Pinprick Lighting on LED Screen

I'm no computer expert by any stretch of the imagination, and I'll admit that I'm missing my last generation macbook pro very much. Unfortunately, it has died, and in it's place, this arrived. We've all raved about the strength of the screen joint, but my concern is actually on the screen.
There's a spot on the new screen that has what appears to be pinprick light showing through that has NOTHING to do with the actual graphics. It actually looks like there might be some dead pixels and the LED is showing through brighter than usual as a result. Before I start screaming over my misfortune and call the company, is there anything else that might be causing this?
