chalkboard effect

Hello,

I'm putting together a project for a football team & I'm exploring possibilities with LiveType for a chalkboard type effect. Maybe the words or titles being written and/or plays (x's & o's). Anything like this out there or a technique?

Thanks!

Then all you have to do is spend a few long hours exploring the application. Chalkboard fonts are available from many third party type foundries and you may have some system fonts that will work such as, umm, Chalkboard.

You can easily apply grunge or deterioration/erosion mattes to any of the handwritten typefaces to simulate chalk texture but all locker rooms now use whiteboards.

Animating single objects liek Xs and Os that represent players is a nightmare in LT. But if youcan figure ot how to keyframe positions of 22 different objects and arrows and other diagram elements, you will have learned much about LiveType. The most important thing you will learn is that you need to have Motion or After Effects.

& Uh, I know there's a "chalkboard" font. My question was more to the point of how to "animate" it properly.< </div>

Oh, I, of course, didn't catch that as the nature of your original inquiry. Here's part of your OP:

Keyframing this in LT is going to be a weirdly fun nightmare from which you can awake. I'e never used FCE but I understand it has multiple video layers. Keyframing position in FCE is probably easier than doing so in LiveType. Export your characters (that Gilmore has located for you) as still images with alpha, not as movies.
