MyMedicare.gov logon issue

When I log on to Mymedicare.gov with Safari I always get a small window with this notice "You already have a web browser accessing the current web session. Multiple browsers are not allowed to share the same web session. To launch a new web session, please open a new web browser by accessing your command prompt or your desktop."
I do not have a web browser conneceted to Mymedicare.gov. I quit Safari and restart and get the same message. I restart the Mac and I get the same message. I have no trouble accessing the site with Firefox.
Does any else have this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions on resolving this?

2.1 Ghz iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.5), Safari 3.1.2

Hello kenka:

Welcome to Apple discussions.

Oddly enough, I have had the same problem. My workaround (like yours) was to use Firefox. I have, however, had the site open properly. I usually have the issue when I have logged off and then tried to log back on. I suspect that the problem is with the medicare.gov site (not that unusual with government sites). I spent a lot of years in US Government IT and encountered - at times - a Windows-centric mentality.

Send the site an E-mail. If enough of us complain, they might fix it.

Barry
