I have an iPod and need to get my music back. I read about these programs here on the forum and would like to know if they are safe - wouldn't want a virus on my new iBook. Thanks

I don't know about iPod Viewer, but iPodRip is safe. The company who makes it is really good in my opinion. They make very useful mac apps other than just iPodRip. I use a couple of their apps and they work great.
RE: All songs erased from iPod, but really just HIDDEN!!
I just fixed a guys iPod with the same problem!!
This is a free program, and it works great!
View invisible files is the best, but it does lots more.
I just fixed a buddies iPod that all his music was missing!!

Copy the app to your applications or desktop, dbl click it,
when the app comes up, the first option is to display invisible files!
select it, reload the finder, and voila, all the hidden files show up everywhere.
Goto your iPod drive, go into iPod_Control, and copy the music folder to your Mac!!!! Back it up on dvd, or whatever. Then you can format your iPod, or put all that music in iTunes and resync... The main thing is, you now have all the music on your iPod safely backed up!!!
I was jumping for joy when I found TinkerTool, what a cool program and what an awesome programmer giving it away for free... There still might be hope for this world yet...

Thank you guys for your help. I just read the info now and I am planning on downloading that program. Peace.
I did it (used tinkertool - THANKS!) but now find that my music is named differently - wierd characters. How do I revert to their orginal names? Also, ho do I "un'hind" this folder? If I move it to my Desktop, it'll disapear. Thanks for your help.
Are iPod Viewer/iPodRip safe programs?
