Midi Interface not recognised

A couple of months ago I purchased an Edirol UA 25 USB audio and midi interface. I was trying to set up the midi interface and stupidly, I deleted the UA 25 from the Audio Midi setup utility. I cannot get it back whatsoever. I opened system prefs and clicked on the UA 25 icon and the message "The device could not be found.." appeared. However the audio interface works fine. The line in/out are configured to the UA 25 and I can use it with Logic, iTunes etc. The only problem is that the system wont recognise the midi interface. I have tried reinstalling the driver many times, used different USB ports, verified/fixed disk permissions. I cant think of anything else to try.

Anyone know what the problem is at all?

Thanks.

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Deleting an app does not necessarily mean simply trashing one icon. Apps such as this one which probably needed a password to install are system-level apps and have some components in various places.

What you need to do is contact Edirol to see if they supply an uninstall script and remove it completely and then start over. Most well-written apps have an uninstall program, script or app.

You might also use Finder to search for traces of the product on your complete system.
There should be a Receipt in the Receipts folder in the main library, not your local user library.

Thanks for your reply, however this did not resolve my problem. It still does not recognise the device. I uninstalled the driver using the uninstaller provided by Roland. I then restarted and verified/repaired my disk permissions. I then downloaded the latest driver and installed it, restarted, and it still wont recognise the midi interface.
