Anyone using Adobe PS/CS4 on G4?

Has anyone loaded the Adobe CS4 upgrade(s) on a G4? I'm wondering specifically about Photoshop, but also use InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.

Experiences/Comments???

TIA,

Geoff

Yes it Photoshop CS4 will work on some G4 PowerMacs. I got a CS4 volume liecence for work and thought i would try on a G4 to see what i can use or not use. I noted that Min system is G5 Mac. So i tried it to see what would happen. To my suprise I had no problem installing Photoshop CS4, Illus CS4, InDesign CS4, Dreamweaver CS4, Fireworks CS4, Flash CS4, Bridge CS4 and Acrobat Pro all work on some G4s. I tested it first on my old graphics machine AGP G4 Dual 1.3 ghz running OS X.5.5 and Photoshop launched a little on the slow side compared to CS3 but it runs fine. Actually all the above programs run fine on at least an upgraded Dual G4. I thought maybe it had something to with the after market CPU upgrade. I then proceeded to try my PowerBook G4 17" 1.67ghz. These programs work just as they did on the Dual 1.3 but do not run as well as they do on the Dual machine. I have yet to try it on older machines with slower CPUs - I will be trying it on a AGP with a Single 1ghz CPU Upgrade to see if it will work or not. This might not work on all G4s but it worked on two i tried so far. I think maybe due to the fact that the later powerbooks were G4s and none ever were G5s that some high end G4s might work with some of the products. the Fasted G4 ever produced by apple was the 1.67ghz powerbooks and the highest non upgraded G4 PowerMac is Dual 1.42 ghz
any other info i will post here. i even showed a apple tech who did not believe me but he was amazed as well.
Both my machines are running OS X.5.5

Hi,

the CS4 design premium install DVD installed almost everything perfectly on my dual-mirror door 2 x 867 Mhz PowerMac G4.

It refused to install Flash, though (Flash was greyed out). I worked around this by downloading the trial version of Flash CS4 from adobe, which installed fine and worked with my Design Premium serial number.

The whole thing works as if marred in molasses, though, so I just use mine for compatibility purposes (reading client files, etc.). I use my old Photoshop CS and Illustrator 10 for real work.

Cheers,

Albert.

Just installed CS4 Ai/Ps/Dw on Powerbook 1.6MHz with no 'argument' from Leopard 10.5.6, but PrPro did object and wouldn't continue with setup. Also installed Quark 8, no problem. However, I have yet to actually do any work in any of these packages... probably some functions won't 'take' properly, or at least slower.
