How do I fax with my new MacBook Pro?

JUST got my MacBook Pro and trying to figure out if I can send and receive faxes while I am traveling. Do I need to be hooked up to a phone line with a physical fax modem? Can I send and receive faxes via EMAIL? Do I have to pay for a monthly service of some sort? Any and all advice welcome.

(1) Is there a way to connect via WiFi?

Not without an internet fax service. You need a phone number for the sender to send to. That's how fax works.

(2) Does anyone know of a service like eFAX that perhaps is not so expensive? eFAX is $17 per month. I only get a few (usually 4-6) faxes per month.

Since you only receive faxes, use eFax free service. I have had it since they started in business.

I think that myfax is going to work. I wondered how it would work if someone sends me a handwritten fax to my email, so I called their support and found that "with MyFax if someone sends you a regular fax (let's say that have put the handwritten document through their fax machine), you will get the fax in your email as a PDF document". Thanks for the suggestion.
