how do I unprotect my music files?

some how all of my itunes got protected, now I can not burn cd's or play the files. How do I unprotect them, and how did they get protected in the first place?

I see you're new hear. It looks as if you just read the title of the thread and not the whole thread. If you'd read through, you'd realize that the Terms of Use prohibit discussion of removing the DRM (protection).
