Hi and welcome to Discussions,

I don't think we will ever see an OSX version of that game, but who knows 😉

Best choice right now is to use BootCamp, which is part of OSX Leopard, to install Windows on your MBA
http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/

You have to buy a Windows License/CD and since you are using a MBA an external USB-connected Disc-Drive http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=307310

Another option might be the usage of Codeweavers Crossover Games http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxgames/

I am a bit of a Totalwar fan, and my experience is that MTW will not play under Crossover. Boot Camp is your best option - though it might play under Parallels - but you would still need a copy of Windows.

You should also bear in mind that MTW 1 has issues with the latest NVidia drivers and usually requires lots of messing about. All the Totalwar series play well on my MBP (early version, so has ATI video) but many players report real problems with the early MTW and NVidia.

I haven't tried playing any games on my MBA, so I couldn't tell you if it has enough oomph even for MTW.

If you like the engine, you might try Imperial Glory which is made for the Mac. Nowhere near as good, and Napoleonic era, but a reasonable facsimile of the strategy and battlefield approach.

Hi,

as Soft Reset already posted, any Windows License you can buy at a store should work, as long as it is not an update version or a manufacturer-bundled version from Dell, HP and the like.

My I suggest that you first try the Demo version of Crossover with your game.
That way you can easily (and priceless) tryout.

Hi PearceNC,

i was wondering y cant i use a dell disc im not and wht is

Dell and other large PC manufacturers have a license from Microsoft to alter the content of the Windows CDs they deliver with their PCs.
Mostly they use this license to remoce parts of the original Windows CD that they don't need which usually makes these CDs un-useable with other computers than the one the CD originally came with.
Also with notebooks from these manufacturers, the Windows CD only contains an image of the original installation, which also renders them useless for use with other computers.

Another option might be the usage of Codeweavers Crossover Games http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxgames/ and how does it work

Codeweavers Crossover is providing a Windows environment on a Mac without the actual need to install Windows on it.
Crossover is based on Wine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wine_(software) and has improved quite a lot over the past months, making it a real opportunity for using Windows programs on Intel-Macs.

And because you don't have to buy a Windows license and can tryout Crossover before buying it, I thought of it as a possibility to see how good Medieval runs on your MBA.

Stefan
