Adaptec 4300 fireconnect!!! awesome..

My ipod hasnt been working for quite some time now and having ordered the adaptec from amzon.co.uk (dont even think about doin it they are rubish) i waited for too long then cancelled and ordered from overclockers =D.

The card came today and took me about three minutes to put in then...voila!! no problems, nothing, just how the ipod should work. Im so chuffed and i have to say if your ipod isnt working and you are going through USB- dont!

If you think its not worth spending the money on your wholly wrong. it'll make a **** of a difference so do it =) and youll have your beloved ipod running like clockwork again

The truth is that the majority of the iPod users are probably using a Windows PC, which mostly have USB ports, and there are only a small number of PCs who have a Firewire port or a Firewire card. So by not including the Firewire cable Apple can lower the price of the iPod to attempt to sell more, and those who want Firewire will just have to buy a Firewire iPod cable themselves.

Ok well I'm finally getting a computer of my own put together (waiting for parts to arrive). I've failed to get my iPod to work on 3 different computers so the last thing I'm going to try is buy one of these Adaptec fireconnects. My question is:

Whats the difference between the 8300 and 4300? Which do you suggest I get? I noticed that the 8300 has 2 of one port and 1 of another and the 4300 has 3 of one port.

That one different port the 8300 is the only difference I find between them. Is it that important or can I just go with the 4300?

Adaptec 4300 fireconnect!!! awesome..
