Fix for the irresponsive keyboard + mouse issue

I just went today to an Apple Service Center with the issue indicated in many other posts: keyboard and trackpad nonresponsive. I was first told that this was a very common issue.

It is due to a faulty "pressure" connector for the silver (ie. keyboard), not the orange, ribbon in the battery compartment.

What worked for me is:
- remove battery
- take out the semi-transparent protecting sheet (you have to use a plastic tool as a lever and press, it goes out quite easily)
- remove the silver ribbon (it goes out easily as well)
- clean its tip with a soft tissue
- put it back in firmly
- put back sheet and battery

And it is fixed for me. The guy told me that if this does not work, the case has to be changed.

PROBABLY ANOTHER SOLUTION. Same problem, my trackpad and keyboard used to freeze 3 to 4 times every day. I think I found a solution that is working for me. If you take the battery out you will see the connectors for the keyboard and the trackpad. It seems like there is a hardware problem with these connections which do not work properly due to warming conditions coming from the battery or there is some kind of contact between these connections and the battery due to the connections are a little loose. So I placed a plastic film between the battery and these connectors and the problem disappeared for 2 days now. In my case I used one of those films used to protect ipod screed from scratches.
